Afraha Stadium Renovation at an Advanced Stage of Completion

Written by Nancy Naholi

The refurbishment of the Afraha Stadium project is currently at advanced stages with a significant amount of work being the renovation of the stadium’s pitch.

This crucial phase of the project aims to create a world-class playing surface that meets modern standards and provides a top-notch experience for athletes and spectators alike. Key aspects of the pitch renovation include the installation of trenches which are strategically dug and lined with perforated pipes to allow excess water to flow away from the surface and ensure proper drainage on the pitch.

Similarly, the Contractor disclosed other crucial aspects of renovating the stadium pitch as the planting of suitable grass aimed at improving the aesthetic and comfort of the pitch and the application of organic manure.

The ongoing pitch renovation at Afraha Stadium is a vital component of the overall refurbishment project with the aim to modernize the stadium and enhance its infrastructure.

Moreover, the contractor is also working on improving the lighting system through the installation of upgraded floodlights to ensure adequate visibility at the facility.

Additionally, the refurbishment project also includes the construction of new facilities such as modern changing rooms, locker rooms, and medical facilities. These new facilities will not only improve the overall experience for athletes but also ensure their safety and well-being during matches and training sessions.

The refurbishment of Afraha Stadium holds great promise for the community and once complete the project will position Afraha Stadium’s status as a premier sporting venue and an integral part of the community’s sense of pride.

This initiative aligns with the vision of H.E Governor Susan Kihika, who seeks to promote sports tourism and stimulate the local economy through the development of top-notch sporting facilities.
